The University of Hertfordshire is a modern, employability focussed institution located just 25 minutes north of Central London with a direct link to London’s King’s Cross Station. The University holds the prestigious Gold Teaching Excellence Framework award which showcases our quality of teaching and commitment to the overall student experience of both our domestic and overseas students.

Hertfordshire is business focused which means that they embed industry knowledge throughout our whole curriculum, engage with professional bodies and support hundreds of students every year on industrial placements, which are available at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

This business facing approach provides students with the knowledge, practical skills and experience that employers look for, giving you the best chance of career success. Producing highly employable graduates who are in demand for their knowledge, skills and competence is a priority at the University of Hertfordshire. Their high vocational content means graduates from the University of Hertfordshire are more ‘work-ready’ than many other graduates qualified in their area of expertise. This focus has meant that 96% of Hertfordshire's graduates are in work or further study within 6 months of graduating.

Hertfordshire is home to around 25,000 students with approximately 5,000 of those coming from overseas. This means at any one time there can be over 90 different nationalities on campus contributing to a diverse student population and making the campuses a melting pot of different cultures and customs. Hertfordshire is proud to be home to a truly international community and invest heavily in their campus facilities so that students can call it home.

Courses

Hertfordshire offers over 450 courses across a range of disciplines. These include Art & Design, Accounting & Finance, Business & Management, Computer Science, Engineering & Technology, Humanities & Liberal Arts, Law, Education & Teaching, Pharmacy & Pharmaceuticals, Psychology & Sport and Biosciences. There are programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate and placements are available at both levels of study.

Notably programmes include our 2 Year Accelerated Law Degree which allows students to complete a full British LLB in just two academic years. Additionally, you can combine a one-year work placement with the International Business MSc, giving you a British master’s degree followed by a year using those skills in industry.

Facilities

Hertfordshire has really invested in our facilities over the past 10 years, to give students the most practical learning experience. Notably, there is a new 4 storey £50 million Science Building which includes a state-of-the-art simulation hospital ward and pharmacy helping to prepare the Healthcare and Pharmacy students for work by giving them practical experience. Hertfordshire is also home to one of the UK’s only replica Crown Courts which means the Law students can practice in a realistic court environment before they qualify. All of these facilities are based across two stunning campuses which means that most students are never more than 5 minutes away from their next lecture.

Accommodation

Hertfordshire has over 4,500 bed spaces in new on-campus accommodation and guarantee a room on campus for all international students. There’s a variety of accommodation options both on and near the campuses to suit your budget.

Student and Campus Experience

As a campus University, Hertfordshire has everything a student might need on campus! The university is home to the Forum Hertfordshire, a 2,500 capacity entertainments complex offering the best in live entertainment, bars, shopping and eateries.

There are also two on campus gyms including a £15 million Sports Village with facilities such as a 25m swimming pool, climbing wall, indoor and outdoor courts as well as an extensive cardio and weights training area.

Close to the University is The Galleria which has a series of famous chain restaurants for you to eat in with friends. There is an on-campus pub called The EleHouse and just a short walk from the de Havilland Campus is Weatherspoon’s, one of the UK’s favourite pub chains.

Just a short train ride south gets you into Central London! Trains run from early in the morning until late at night which means you can explore the various museums by day, catch a show in the afternoon and go for a few drinks in Soho or Shoreditch in the evening! There’s loads to do, you just have to find time to fit it all in!

Across the Pond is the official representative for this teaching institution for selected countries around the world which means we can help you apply to their courses and help with all the documents needed to submit an application. We can help answer questions about their courses and the institution itself as they do not necessarily have the capacity to deal with student enquiries from all around the world on a daily basis. This also means that they can ask us questions about your application and we can help explain if they are not familiar with your grades, academic background or the educational system in your home country. They also appreciate that students who apply through Across the Pond get the help they need, not only in terms of submitting the application and supporting documents, but also with everything needed before arrival in the UK, such as student accommodation, visa information, funding information and well as preparing for departure to the UK.
