The University has one of the top employment rates in the UK with 95% of BNU graduates in, or about to start, employment or further study within 15 months of graduation (HESA).

Bucks Students’ Union was again ranked as one of the top five in the NSS. BNU’s partnership with the Students’ Union will give you many different opportunities to try new things, develop new skills, and make friendships for life. We invest heavily in the SU to ensure that almost all their activities are free of charge because we believe there should be no barriers to embracing all that university life offers.

Being a responsible corporate citizen is also incredibly important to the University. BNU strives to make a positive impact within its local communities and on the environment. That’s why BNU has pledged to go carbon net-zero by 2030, 20 years ahead of the government’s target. You’ll have a breadth of opportunities to volunteer your time to make a difference in the causes that matter to you. See for yourself what makes Buckinghamshire New University such a special and vibrant place.

About BNU

The ‘new’ in Buckinghamshire New University does not represent our age. In fact, BNU recently celebrated its 130th birthday! Originally founded as the School of Science and Art, with the motto By Art & Industry, Skill and Energy, the University has always had forward-thinking approaches to its academic ambitions. The new stands for our approach to teaching: At BNU, the focus is on learning by practice and employability, which is why all courses are constantly being updated to reflect changes in the industry and to make sure the practical skills you learn and the knowledge you accumulate will help you land your dream career.

Location - High Wycombe

With its main campus in the Buckinghamshire town of High Wycombe, the University is ideally located within a small, vibrant English town, whilst being right next to the capital of England, London. With only a 25-minute direct train to the capital city centre, our location bridges the gap between affordable living and the hustle and bustle of the big city with its plethora of opportunities.

Next door to the campus is the Eden Centre, a shopping mall made up of over 100 stores, from high-end fashion brands to boutique cafes. Not just for shopping, the Eden Centre is also where a lot of BNU students go for part-time work. And because High Wycombe is a ‘university town’, local employers always respect that your education comes first, meaning your work will never interfere with your study.

Also found nearby is The Rye, a 53-acre park that’s less than a 2-minute walk from campus. Beyond that, High Wycombe is also home to the Hellfire Caves, a man-made series of caverns extending 260m below sea level.

Specialist Areas

Aviation & Pilot Studies – The greatest testament to our practical-based learning is BNU’s offer of degrees for aspiring pilots. Whether your dream is to fly for commercial airlines or become a private or helicopter pilot, BNU offers all three as a full bachelor’s degree with honors, and thanks to our connection with UK flight schools that offer affordable flying lessons, graduates don’t just receive a degree, but also a frozen pilot’s license, thanks to your timetable being specifically designed to allow you to get up in the air and learn what it really means to be a pilot.
