LIFE ON CAMPUS

The campus is divided into three areas: North Campus, Central Campus and South Campus. All areas are accessible on foot and there are plentiful food and shopping outlets throughout. Abercromby Square is a delightful outdoor space which students enjoy during the spring and summer months, even if the British weather is not always the best!

Liverpool was the first Russell Group university to provide week-day 24-hour opening during the academic year. There are two libraries with over two million books, over 65,000 electronic journals and over 680,000 contemporary electronic books. Extensive specialist collections include the largest Science Fiction collection in Europe! Both libraries have zoned study spaces (silent, quiet and group) and receive excellent feedback from students.

A wide range of accommodation is available at the University, to suit all tastes, needs and budgets. Five campus residences offer students convenient access to university facilities as well as being only a 10-minute walk from the bustling city centre. Greenbank Student Village (exclusively offered to first-year undergraduate students) is located in a leafy suburb of Liverpool with beautiful parkland on the doorstep and a calendar of social activities running throughout the year.
 

STUDENT SUPPORT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

Supporting students is a priority at the University of Liverpool, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their potential in a positive environment. The Student Services Centre brings together support teams across a range of areas with specialist advisors on-hand to support with a wide variety of needs, including health and wellbeing, disabilities, financial advice and visas and immigration. In-person and virtual appointments can be booked online and there is an extensive library of self-help guides and resources.

International students also benefit from dedicated support from the International Advice and Guidance (IAG) team. IAG advisors deliver induction events, themed presentations throughout the year and provide a wealth of online information. Appointments can be booked with an IAG advisor for individual queries.
 

SPORTS AND SOCIETIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

Life at the University of Liverpool isn’t just about academic excellence. Over 200 student-run societies, study abroad programmes and numerous volunteer projects provide great opportunities for students to develop both personally and professionally.

The Guild of Students is the heart of social life at the University, with a revamped building housing event venues, shops, restaurants and recreational facilities. The Guild organises a vast array of activities and events throughout the year, from formal balls to quizzes and gigs. There are also trips to places of local interest and more widely across the UK so students can explore with others at a cheaper cost.

For those looking to contribute to a good cause and make a difference the Guild facilitates a broad range of volunteering opportunities, including animal welfare, climate and sustainability, literacy and mental health support.

Societies are an excellent way to make friends, continue hobbies or develop a new skill and with over 200 on offer there is something to suit everyone’s taste! Academic societies, faith and cultural societies, music and art societies, and lots more to explore!

Sport Liverpool has over 50 competitive sports clubs, internal leagues, and excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. The Sports Centre is nestled in the heart of the campus and includes a swimming pool, sports halls, bouldering wall, dance and spinning studio and squash courts. Football, rugby, hockey and lacrosse pitches can be found at the University’s Wyncote Sports Ground. Students can access facilities for recreational purposes and also for competitive sport. Clubs compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) leagues, where competitors travel across the country to represent the University in a variety of sports.
